A “Gaiwan” is a three-part Chinese lidded bowl used for the infusion of tea leaves and drinking of tea. The ruling class used the “Gaiwan” as a cup back in the Imperial days. Today, it is a common and casual vessel for enjoying tea.
Put tea leaves in the “Gaiwan" cup, add hot water. Cover with the lid and wait for a few minutes. Smell the aroma first, then enjoy the tea. For the best flavor, follow the brewing guidelines of your tea.
